When you think of Walt Disney what do you think of? You should think about his magic, his optimism and the dreams of America and how they come true. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901, where he grew up and became a wonderful creator of what is known to be Disney movies. Throughout his movies he creates a similar theme in each movie, just with different characters and with different settings. In each movie there is a dream that always comes true with the help of believing and knowing that it will. He uses his imagination to create unbelievable stories. The ideas behind Walt Disney movies are very similar to the theory of The Secret and the law of attraction. The movie Finding Nemo has the same story line as all of his other Disney movies. The comparison between the two is phenomenal and very obvious to see.
In the theory of The Secret it talks about unbounded potential. Well in the movie Finding Nemo Marlin has unbounded potential finding his son Nemo, as he takes on the ocean including sharks and jellyfish. Nemo and his dad Marlin take on many challenges throughout the movie and overcome all of them. Nemo gets separated from his dad by getting picked up by a diver and taken into a dental office into a fish tank with other tropical fish. The only way that the fish know how to escape out of the tank is to make the tank dirty so the dentist has to take the fish out to clean, so Nemo tries to clog the chamber with a pebble and gets himself into trouble. Because Nemo has one small fin and one strong fin the other fish feel sorry for him, except Gill. Gill is a fish with a wounded fin as well so he expects more out of Nemo. Gill tells him, "Just think about what you have to do," he also encourages Nemo and says "he could do this." When he gets into the chamber and clogs it with a pebble all of the fish celebrate. Their excitement is contagious, as The Secret would say. When Gill tells Nemo to think about what he is doing, that corresponds with the theory of The Secret, which you have to think what you want to happen and just focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. So Nemo focused on clogging the chamber and not getting torn up in the spinning propeller, and he succeeds. When Marlin and Dory are on their journey finding Nemo, he runs into some trouble. Dory does not remember that they should swim through the trench not over, so they swim over and meet jellyfish at the top. As they are coming closer to the jellyfish Dory gets stung, Marlin tries to help Dory through and the only way he could is to race Dory through jumping on the top of the fish to avoid getting stung. Marlin makes the best of a bad situation and tries to make rushing through the jellyfish fun. As Dory and him are swimming through he says, "Were doing it, were having fun at the same time." He also asks Dory if she is hungry and says with a dramatic voice, "Eat my bubbles!" The Secret believes that if it is not fun then you should not do it, but Marlin makes it fun to make it through the big group of jellies. The Secret also believes that throughout life you just have to go with the flow to get through and get what you want like Lisa Nichols says, “It’s your job to go with the flow inside f the Universe, and to celebrate it inside of the world that exists.” Well "going with the flow" is exactly what Marlin and Dory do. On the way to finding Nemo they have to go through the current, where they meet sea turtles and go with the flow. Throughout the movie Dory is the most encouraging fish and follows every theory proven in The Secret. She sees what she is going to achieve and follows the law of attraction. Dory is always focused on the good and positive things never the negative, she is always excited and the excitement is always contagious. The Secret also has no limits, and Dory is unlimited to everything she does. Dory takes her attention and energy to do something that she really wants, like Michael Bernard Beckwith says, "Learn to become still, and to take your attention away from what you don’t want, and all the emotional charge around it, and place the attention on what you wish to experience... Energy flows where attention goes."
In the beginning of the movie, Marlin and his wife Coral have over four hundred eggs, and they are just watching them, in their new home and thinking about what to name them. Marlin thinks that they should name half Marlin Jr. and the other half Coral Jr., although she likes the name Nemo. As a few minutes pass they look up and there is a huge shark, as Coral tries to save the eggs the shark gets her and all of the eggs but one. Marlin decides to name the last egg Nemo. The theme song of “Finding Nemo” is Beyond the Sea by Robbie Williams. Throughout the song it says that she is up there in heaven waiting for Marlin, waiting to share a kiss like they once have before. It also says “I know beyond the doubt my heart will lead me there soon Oooh we'll meet, I know we'll meet beyond the shore,” Marlin will someday meet up with Coral again to share the happiness and the love again.
The movie “Finding Nemo’’ is very similar to all of Walt Disney’s other movies, concerning the dreams coming true or in this case, Marlin finding Nemo. The Secret and the law of attraction tie into this movie well. The comparison between the two is phenomenal and very obvious to see. Nemo thinks about what he has to do to get out of the tube that he is stuck in, while the other fish tell him that it is going to be ok. The theory behind the secret is that you see, think, believe and say it is going to happen and it does. It also says that if you have fun while doing it you will be more successful and Marlin makes a bad situation fun to get through. Dory is the perfect example of what The Secret is all about. She is limitless, just like the secret, where Charles Haanel says, “There is no limit to what this law can do for you; Dare to believe in your won ideal; think of the ideal as already accomplished fact.” The secret is in Finding Nemo, can you find it.
